We all travel like animals in a fury
Hundreds of shadows under the moon
Collecting beach glass on our way

The waters trickle and burn our feet like razors
But we continue onward and the red sun rises

Scavengers sway to and fro above our heads
Spinning like a broken clock, ticking the doom away
Let us count down our deaths in prayer
Like the moment we are born;

The skeleton finger counts the minutes

Knowingly, we bow our heads
As the guillotine strikes the second
As the pendulum sways the minute
As the razorblade ignites the hour

Get this right or it’ll change your life
We’re all going to live to hear the skeleton chime
Pray your angels and they’ll help you survive
We’re all going to live to see the day that we die

Count your fires, wear the holy water

We float in the seas now, our bodies like mannequins
There is no coral that makes this water appear red
Only the blood of the decayed
The hollow insides of a lifetime

Ride the waves, they all lead to one place
Sometimes there will be storms, causing chaos
Other times the sea will be gentle and kind
But no matter how hard you pull away from the tide
The waves will crash, like the day that you pass

Completely true, death is inevitable and closer than we think. Expressed short and to the point.
