Array ( [sid] => 117050 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Music is in Her [time] => 2006-03-25 18:07:43 [hometext] => I wrote this when I was in a mental hospital and it is a poem with many meanings, so please read it and take from it what you want. It means something special to me and you can make it what you want it. [bodytext] => Mixed up and informal,
Miserable.
No one ever told her
she was beautiful.
No manners.
Lost in translation.
Incomprehensible.
She is unforgivable.
Is she fighting or is she failing?
She can barely survive.
Take a mental ride.
Time to choose sides.
This girl is locked away
in a time capsule.
Time to walk away.
Get ready for dismissal.
All the trivial things
that don’t mean nothing.
All the important things
too fragile and precious to lose.
Time stops.
Let the beat drop
to a slower rhythm
like the place she lives in.
“Let him sing!”
“Let the final bell ring!”
The bell tolls,
counting to twelve.
Deep into her heart,
she lets the music dwell.
It’s in her,
beside her,
and all around her.
The music gets louder
and louder. . .
Misunderstood and chaotic.
Lost, alone, and desperate.
Hear her call out your name.
Hear the melodies of the rain–
her pain.
Controversy and melodramatic
lies. Figments of an imagination
gone wild. Called a wallflower
and then she smiled because she
knows better than you about the end.
She’s been there and back. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 226 [topic] => 73 [informant] => justme03 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

This write is marvelous. It gives a deep inside look at recovery of oneself give the time and space to do so. Your bell will toll again and toll loudly for all to hear. I love the say the last 17 lines created a bell effect on the page. I don't know if you intended that but it added a magic to the deep meaning of the poem that you have the inner strength to ring that bell again. I send you much care and many caring thoughts. Rita
