Its been a couple days since we went our seperate ways
But still engraved in my heart and on my skin is your name.
Theres cuts slashing every way, up and down, back and forth
but they all lead to one thing; The heart around your name.
I didnt know any better, so I did whatever
Its been a couple weeks since my name you do not speak
but still engraved in my heart and on my skin is your name,
The cuts have scabbed over, started to peel away,
But still they all lead to the heart around your name.
I still dont think its fair, I'm still filled with despair.
Its been a couple months since you left me in the dust
but still engraved in my heart and on my skin is your name.
The scabs opened up again when I saw you the other day
and yes, they still all lead to the heart around your name.
I still dont understand why you're not my man,
but I've got God here with me now, hes lending me a helping hand.
