where tongues were slow to taunt
and minds kept pace with seasons,
he would've been acclaimed the village idiot;
with a crown of spiky, honest wit
and no malice.

Something peculiar unto the wind,
with a few lose screws to be sure-
but harmless and deft as a swift kick...
dodging a fervor of friendly potshots
aimed only to make him dance - never to maim.

Now, in this deadlier time,
no such mercies are awarded.

They call him Mr. Nowhere;
for nowhere he seemed to be going:

lest up and down the murderous maze
of all his all too familiar nights and days

Jealousy abounds of this ready-made, fair weather friend-
confidence spawned in sewer-depths of intent;
hissing fourth maledictions, outwitting enemies..
formerly aroused by green, backyard angels..
their intolerable innocence.

Spastic, jagged, rhythm
of spite, mocking bells tolled only
for him, flowing down some recent river of filth;
banning him from games,
forever devising new schemes,
pointless in their pains;
rubbing his twisted nose in the gutter;
a life, noone would rather utter.

Billy~
A most sad and heart breaking write you have presented to us. I read this and felt the pain & sadness of the subject u talk about.
Spastic, jagged, rhythm
of spite, mocking bells tolled only
for him, flowing down some recent river of filth;
banning him from games,
forever devising new schemes,
pointless in their pains;
rubbing his twisted nose in the gutter;
a life, noone would rather utter.

Misery spills out onto the pages. A real thought provoking write.
Your fantastic poetic verses are sheer brilliant masterpieces. Well done Billy~
warm huggers from ur fan/friend,
