Above the
antiseptic scent
trailing from the kitchen,
Spring assails my senses
and freshens my soul,
long schooled in
Winter.
Sparrows
for the working
man set up turmoil
in the undergrowth, an
out-of-bounds raven
lords the sky
above
neighboring
chimney stacks,
rooftops and the like.
I know Spring has
come home, not
by the sight
of bud or
sound
of
bird,
but that
my heart
wakes from
solitude, leaping
from anguish
to meet the
coming
day.

I love the way you've structured this and the images you throw up i.e

Sparrows
for the working
man set up turmoil
in the undergrowth, an
out-of-bounds raven
lords the sky
above
neighboring
chimney stacks,

You haven't just focused on the natural world of spring but the human aspect too.
Very well written Billy.

J.

Your inner souls response to Spring is non less than exciting. Whereas I see Spring as the onset of a hot, harsh grueling Summer. This is splendidly done. Hurrah for your Springtime, Billy, Hurrah!

Billy, this was splendid. Emotion filled words, so beautifully
evocative. I especially love the way you chose to display this.

Humbled . . . again.
