Do not be tempted toward hate my friends
A war started by liars is now fought by you
Hold to what’s good, what’s worthy and true

You have been placed there by liars yes,
and left to meet your fate
But you will only lose so much more
If your mind turns to hate

The Iraqis are flesh and blood as we
They love and live lives the same
They think thoughts and hope it’s true
They are much the same as you

Do not be tempted to slaughter them
In indiscriminate rage
In the chaos that is now Iraq
You feel like an animal in a cage

Keep true to the things you know
About family and faith and friend
And only know no matter the pain
One day there will come an end

US military probes Iraq killings
BBC - Tuesday, 21 March 2006, 08:39 GMT

US military investigators have flown to Iraq to study reports that marines shot dead at least 15 civilians, including seven women and three children.

The incident is said to have happened in Haditha on 19 November 2005.

The military's initial claim that the civilians died in a roadside blast was disproved by an earlier investigation.

Investigators will now ask if the civilians died in crossfire or were targeted in a vengeful killing spree, prompted by the death of a marine.

You know, in all honesty I find that sometimes your writing gets on my nerves, but I tend to read it, anyway. But I actually agree with this one. I think a lot of this war has got out of hand, and that there are many innocent people over there who are just stuck in the middle of a war that they don't want. They should not be punished for the actions of others. I think your poem has a very relevant message.

Anyway. Good write.
