Like a Dead Rose

Topic:
ambiguous
|
Her heart quickened
As she slowed her pace
Rationale forsaken
As she longed for a returning gaze
Forbidden love
The stolen moments now replaced
By diverted glances of
Shame on his surface
Why now? Why the restraint?
On the previously lustful passion
That burst forth, what remained?
Discarded like a dead rose
She still clutched on to those
Wonderful memories, imagined
