[bodytext] => FOR THE MEEK…THE BELLS DO TOLL…(©Peter Sprenkeler)
They stand calm and serene…amid life's turmoil, Peaceful yet vigilant…the salt of life's soil. Many consider them all to be weak…retiring and shy, In the affairs of others…they will not meddle or pry. Softly spoken…polite…yet prepared to listen and hear, Aggression is not a part…of all they hold dear. Achieving much…by peaceful methods and ends, As oil on the waters…a calming message this sends. Saying little…well chosen words are as gold, Their values never…to be abandoned or sold. Integrity and right…the keystone of their lives, Could not live with deceit…or falsely testify. Honour and self-esteem…paramount in their ways, A commitment to all these…for all of their days. Mis-judged and maligned…still deftly they stand, Respect indeed…their characters rightly demand. Violence never allowed…to stain their soul, Sensitivity for others…their names written down on the heavenly roll. Only for the meek…indeed do life's bells toll, For meekness is mighty strength…under perfect control.
