Suddenly in love, and
Life is sweeter, more purposeful
The colours of the world richer,
A palette for heart’s picture

Suddenly in love, and
Its intoxicating
The possibilities much brighter, and
The spirit that much lighter

Suddenly in love, and
I can’t believe my fortune
After too long a fast,
Now this sweet repast

Suddenly in love, and
It feels so surreal
I find myself smiling at everything,
It’s like a drug making my body sing
And yours will too,
When you are suddenly in love. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 269 [topic] => 2 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 55 [ratings] => 13 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Love is an amazing drug, something that people try to recreate by taking illegal drugs and some legal ones too.
But you can't recreate that one true feeling.
A beautiful write spike.

If Australia has a Poet Laureate other than you, they got the wrong guy! I've only read your three latest postings, but I am in AWE. I think I got only 101 left to go.

This reminds me of a couple in their early sixties that my wife and I met last summer. I never put in words why they were so refreshing to be around but, with your permission, I will be sharing a copy of this poem with them. They think I'm a "good poet". Wait 'till they read this! I'll be contacting you for permission.

Oh, Spike! What tremendous beauty!

My apologies, kind sir, for being so very lax in visiting you.

This write is so fresh and invigorating! Like love itself, dear Spike.
Your optimism shines like a million dazzling stars !

Beautifully penned.
