Self inflicted wounds. You’re terrified, everything’s right and wrong. Everything’s as it should be, but still wrong in every way. His kiss brings you closer to truth, while your own decisions bring further away from it. Back and forth, back and forth. Pacing like a caged wolf. You’ve got it all, but in the end, you have nothing.
Asking him to take you away from it all, when you can’t even take yourself away from things life has forgotten. Here you are, staring at the television, wondering why everything is making you cry. Hallow silver, cutting through your soul. Hiding your emotions with eye shadow and mascara. Telling everyone your okay when everything is fading away.
You put that burden on him, when he has is own to deal with…because you’ve forgotten how to deal with it. You’ve forgotten how to deal with life and now you make it his.
You find salvation in his arms. Falling away in his warmth. The world leaves when he’s around. You just want to be there until it all comes crashing down. You want him to take you away; you want him to make you feel something when everything is so numb. Threats don’t scare you; its al the fear that he’ll leave and death will become your last resort.
Staring into books, trying to find some answer. Trying to find some reason you need to live…but the only reason you have is him. The snow is melting now. And warmth is on the wind. Winter is coming to an end and summer will be here again.
You smile to think of all the chances you have to be with him now. All the time you have to hold him close. Finding truth in his head. Pure emotions numbing your corrupted mind. Everything you’ve ever needed is right there, with him. The question is, do you have the strength and the will to keep him there until death takes you away?
You want it to be his decision, but ultimately you’ll always be the catalyst. You’ll always be the chaos and always chase everyone away.
Searching his mind from answers he doesn’t have. The answers to your existence…
There’s something there…you know there is, because if there wasn’t, you’d be dead.
So he’s light and you’re the dark.
You stare at old journals tearing out the pages as you go. You don’t want to remember…you don’t want to remember anymore…
Ripping out the roots of the past, but you can’t get rid of it all. Your poetry is the only key left to the life you lived before, but is it any different now? Why isn’t he here to hold you? Why isn’t he here when you need him the most? It’s because he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know everything yet…
But you promise him, he will. You promise him he will know everything, because he’s the only one saving you now.
He’s the only one left and you’ve got no where else to run.
When you sleep, it’s him you think is beside you. Always real during the day, but a ghost when the moon hangs overhead. You wait until the day he doesn’t have to be invisible. You wait until the day when you can turn over and hold him closer. You wait until the day you don’t have to feel so alone.
