trying to fight for their lives
triggers are held tight
in blind sight
but now you, begin to
visualize the cries
of his mom when she hears
her baby boy's disappeared
her face is flooded with tears
it's something she never feared
could ever be.

as they
bury their child
six feet under the ground
they're thinking
who was the clown
that shot their baby boy down
who was to blame
you put your family to shame
you know you carry that name
that sets their minds into flames.

now what happens next when both these lives collide
guns are
held at their sides
looking to hurt more then your pride
the circle's beginning again
the cycle knows no end
pointing guns at these men you didn't know to call friend

on the other side of the bullet
life is becoming so clear
now its your own life you fear
will simply just disappear
your mother's face,
you see it flooded with tears
because triggers were pulled
and bullets flew through the air.

life's still real on the other side of the bullet
you wonna live life to the fullest
so let them keep what was promised
as your clutching your guns
let me give you some figures
freedom's that space between your finger
and the trigger.

You hit the nail on the head. A very prudent poem depicting life up here in Toronto recently. Peace is that space. I wish more would realize it.
