as I drift to places years ago.

Sometimes thinking can be the curse,
the memories of it all, make it worse.

As sweet melodic voices sing the next verse,
I reminisce on how it all used to be.

Now I find the same bliss when I hold you so close to me.
We lie together so spent and content.

Creating memories for our future selves.
So they too can build up dust like the old books on our shelves.

My heart you held, it is still yours to crush.
I am still waiting for that day to come.

The colors all bleed into one,
as the rest of the gentle song is sung over the radio. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 270 [topic] => 73 [informant] => moses [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

Is it not amazing how a song can bring back memories. Some happy, some sad. Your poem is beautifully written, a poem to read with and to reminisce of those special times we had in the past.
