Saving me from myself.
Anchoring me to him, as we drift
on this ocean of existence.
His arms protecting me from the tempests
and his eyes shine in their passion for me,
twin pools of azur
like the sun reflecting on the sea
dazzeling in their brilliance.
And when his lips touch mine
I taste the sweetness of his soul
and when he loved me
the earth stood still
so lost were we in each other
and I in my naivity
pushed his love away
not knowing what I had
not realizing the worth of his love.
And the wreckage of my mistake
washes upon the shores of my mind
in an endless rhythm of regret
and in it's wake, love drifts away. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 238 [topic] => 22 [informant] => thesinner [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Wow! I'm with Shari on this. Powerful use of imagery. The title
drew me to this and I was not disappointed. Excellent job!

The last four lines are stellar!
