Screaming out expression that’s bouncing off the walls.
Posters, pictures, colors.
You name it, I see it.
Turn on the computer and press play,
Music starts to scream from the speakers
And then soothing music puts me to sleep and calming my nerves.
Vibrations bouncing off the shaking walls,
Hearing loud and quiet in your ear.
My nose hairs, tingling from the smell of the musky hamster cage.
Then comes the overwhelming smell of Febrezze knocking you off you feet,
As you sniff the fresh cut daises making it harder and harder to smell the musk.
Sitting down on the bed and hugging the comfy, cozy cushions as you relax.
The warmth from the burning blankets makes you feel you touched the sun.
Lying down is as if you felt heaven for a moment
And all your good memories and feelings come surging through.
Spotting a shiny, red candy jar in the corner makes you wonder what is inside.
Moving closer, taking a candy cane out and tasting the deliciously peppermint taste
Burning your taste buds.
Then licking the dreadful war head makes a sour taste run through you
As if a nuclear war is going off on your tongue.
Then death arises and you would take the musky smell over anything.
Mixed emotions going through your mind but this is
My comfort zone.
The one true place where I feel
Safe and Alive.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
