Going around with all this hate and evil
Why can’t people just be civil?
We’re all made the same way
We all have stomachs, lungs and hearts
The only thing keeping races apart
Is the colour of skin
And why is that such a dreadful sin?

With all this fighting going on, nobody can win
What would begin as a mutual friendship
Only ends up in bloodshed and hardship
The only thing people see is differences in appearances
The problem is only skin deep
This is the only thing keeping the hate in

So always remember not to judge people
By the colour of their skin
Then maybe you will see
That you have more in common with them
Than you thought
And maybe the peace between races will finally be. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 198 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Redhotchilichic [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Hooray for speaking out! I like or dislike people based on personalities nothing else, wish we all did the same. Nice work!

Great write, sad though that we still have racism....I was always taught, never judge a book by it's cover...wise words indeed. Peace, Laura

Exactly!! Wonderful heart-felt poem here. Oh and I also wanted to say you have a good taste in music. I have read your other poems and they're great as well.
