They say lightning never strikes twice
But things aren't always as perfect
Things worse than lightning
Have a tendency to strike
To hit
To kick you where it hurts
More than once
Over and over again
As long as we let them

But why?
Why expose yourself
As the vulnerable things
That we all are

Don't trust
Don't believe
Don't be fooled
It's all a joke
And life's the punchline
The punchline
That's told over
And over again

People are fools,
Emotion is overrated
Too much is dependant
Dependant on those we think we can trust
But nothing is real
Nothing is forever
Nothing is sacred

Why care?
Just forget
No point in giving a damn
Because nobody else does

So don't bother
Don't trust
Don't believe
Don't be fooled
It's all a joke
And like's the punchline
That'd told over
And over again

Nothing is for real
Nothing is forever
Nothing is sacred
Everything doesn't go
A certain way
There's no such thing as fate
And destiny's always late
To make things happen
The way you think they should

There's no such thing as easy
In this anecdote
That some call some life

But it just doesn't matter!
There's no point
People are confused
Those who don't give a damn
Are the ones living happily
In a world where such thing exists
Peole are confused
In thinking there's a meaning
In this anecdote
That some call life
There's no such thing

Don't trust..
Don't believe..
It's all a joke...

We are all alone
And always will be
Those who don't believe that
Get hurt
It's their fault
They let themselves
It could've been avoided
If they heard me say--

Don't bother!
Dont' trust!
Don't believe!
Don't be fooled!
It's all a joke
And life's the punchline
The punchline
That gets told over
And over again

Don't be fooled
Nothing matters
Cause it's all a ******* joke
And life's the punchline--
Your life--Your punchline
That your enemies seem to laugh at
Over and over again. [comments] => 9 [counter] => 282 [topic] => 6 [informant] => drtylilsecret [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 16 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

Hmm...this poem has absolutely perfect timing (although it was written a while ago). I have been having a really rough time lately and this reflects exactly how I have been feeling. Its amazing, in it's own way. Great job
