I live in misery

Topic: DarkPoetry

When a guy decided to get revenge, he got revenge against the wrong man.
My parents tell me to go on with my life but I don't think I can.
I wish the events of the last year could somehow be erased.
A jealous man came to my door and threw acid in my face.
He thought I was sleeping with his girlfriend.
When he gave me an acid bath, my will to live came to an end.
The man he was looking for lives next door to me.
I live in hell and those two are going free.
My face is hideous and I hide it under a mask.
When I met the man a second time, I had something to ask.
I asked him how can he live with himself after the horrible thing that he did.
I told him it's because of him that I keep my face hid.
He said he's truly sorry but that doesn't make my future look any less bleak.
Because of his ignorance, there will never again be any happiness for me to seek.
The woman I love dumped me when my good looks were taken.
I live in misery and I've also been forsaken.
Some people are unsatisfied with their looks but they should let it be.
They should give thanks to the Lord that they don't look like me.
