Along the cake walk looking out on to the stars
Their reflection over the water
There is no moon tonight so the stars are
At their brightest and most beautiful
But all I could look at is you

You smile at me then move in for a kiss
We kiss and you push me away
You take off your shoes and hold them in one hand
And run barefoot down the wooden steps
You drop your shoes and run barefoot
On the clear clean white sand

You yell at me come on try and catch me
So I take my shoes off and jump off the rail
And catch you form the front
We fall down and you hit me and say I cheated
I say all is fair in love and war
And we kiss again
This time you don’t push me away

So we walk along hand in hand
By the edge where the waves meet the beach
We must have left so many footsteps
So we walked further along
To the flat that laid just over the rocks
We had to be careful not to slip

We were up on the flat looking out onto the water
A shooting star shot clear across the horizon
Before you said hey lets make a wish
I was already making mine
And we kissed again

That night was so beautiful
You were so beautiful
And I really did love you
More than I did any one else ever
Before we left you asked what I wished for
But I never told
I never told you what my wish was
And it still never came true

And now all the foot steps have been washed away
And I sit here alone on the flat

It's like we never even where [comments] => 5 [counter] => 281 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Doriens_Picture [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
