Misguided especially by lust.
It was the choices I chose,
at the forks in the road.
Before you know it your coffin's closed.
Graspin for a breath to breathe.
Searching for an escape to help me leave.

Caught in the wrong choices,
wishing to hear God's voice its,
hard to make it to tomorrow.
Filled with sorrow,
and yet I still feel hollow.
It's all hard to swallow.

I'm wise beyond my years,
And now I leave it all behind me, shed in tears.
But I still have my fears of relapse,
Fear that the rest of me will collapse.

I've learned things the hard way.
Theres been hard days,
and those won't be the only ones.
But as they say, "Every Dog has his day",
And mine is sure to come. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 609 [topic] => 21 [informant] => moses [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 18 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

The first verse was intense and evocative. The rest (I'm tire of no one on this site giving true criticism, so I will) seems to peter out. I think you may be suffering from something I'm often afflicted with, no stamina. I'm always starting poems with an awesome line that's been bouncing around in my head, but I can't keep up that level of inspiration and creativity throughout. That's why it's so hard to write anything good. Good luck, I hope you find your endurance.

written from the heart.. yes, and take one day at a time.. no worries of tomorrow, it is not here yet.. live in the now.. your poem swept right along.. kept up the flow.. a great message .. who is perfect anyway.. remember that old joke.. when the people were about to throw stones at that woman.. and jesus said, ok.. who ever is without sin, cast the first stone.. suddenly a rock came down from heaven, and knocked the woman out lol. I loved your poem.. choices.. yes.. we find out soon enough if and when we make them right or not.. just pray about everything you do, all you can do..

I always say.. pray for the best, and prayers bring you the best...

I dont like the saying, hope for the best, and prepare for the worst..

hugs, raquel leah

Well I certainly don't agree with Greasefire on his/her comment.I believe if u don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all.
I think this is an excellent poem. Deeply expressed and very well penned. We make our chioces in life, some good and some bad. We live and learn my friend.
Well done Moses and keep penning my friend.
*love n hugs*

"Caught in the wrong choices"

Gosh ... if I had a dollar for everytime the girl in the mirror spoke those very
words ... I'd surely be a trillionaire!

Wonderfully thought-provoking, moses. I felt this, and oh gosh, felt it HARD !!
A solitary pensive thought ... leads to much reflection and a long hard look
at one's self, no? or ... one's lot [choice] in life ... good thing about choices
though ... we can always change our minds!!

Loved this one.
