My Mistake

Contributed by frankcube on Monday, 13th February 2006 @ 02:35:05 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Long ago I thought what I did was right
That my choice was for you
For your intent, to express my kindness
But now I realise what I have done
Was nothing but hurt
I destroyed your soul
I devoured your essence of life
Yet my guilt is immeasurable to your grief
The pain you must have suffered
I never meant to let you go
And yet now, I want you back
More than the very air that I breathe
But you can never forgive me
The harshness and devilry of my deed
To forsake the love I gave you
And discard it like a used tissue
Times have changed, and you and I both know
That to return to that eternal bliss,
Is for now impossible
Take a look into my mind
The yearning I now hold for your beauty
That beauty which I did once bear in my own arms
I never should have let you go
But now, our worlds have grown apart
Like realms which are never meant to pass
Never meant to see each other’s light
Pinned at opposite sides of the earth
I see light, when you see only darkness
My world seeks your comfort
Yet yours is unforgiving,
And rightly so
For who could forgive a man
Claimed to show his eternal love – enduring,
And then forget it
Like forgetting to breathe
Only one with malicious intent,
Could have done to you,
As I did
Forgive me now, my precious Angel,
My mistake, I pray you dispel

Every body makes mistakes.
With such a deep, soul toching, moving write, what's not to forgive?
u remind me of my bestess male friend on this planet.
Maybe that's 'cause his name is Frank to.
huggs,
emy

Well, I guess the only going back is to forgive yourself and live up to what is. We make choices in life, sometimes at that time it seems right, and then, somewhere in our life, we take a turn, wishing we had what we lost to come back. Well, what can I say, its lost I guess, so what we do is to go on... live what we know, as we have grown, our past mistake can only tell us that we must not return to more of what we has pained for in the past.. just to move on, and hope and pray, we have learned and ... just go forth.. all we can do.. even if , yes we still hurt, kick our selves.. we still have to keep going forward.. and try hard never to hurt others again. much peace to you.. and a hug, always enjoy your writes.. for you really put it out there.. its reality what you write.. thank you.. raquelLeah

I never meant to let you go
And yet now,I want you back

A tragedy. They say you don't know just what you have until you lose it.Your poem eloquently emphasizes this,

I agree. Somethings we can never take back and most of the time we will regret it for the rest of our lives. But we learn from the things we have done. Great Poem!!!

Honestly, your poem isnt just great but it is something i wish more people would admit to. People usually take things for granted and are stubborn to admit. But being able to wake up from that is something i find amazing. Personally there is someone in my life and i wish that she would wake up and think the way you were thinking in the poem.

Great poem.

(I would take you back.......*wipes away tears*)

The hardest thing to do is admit that you were wrong, and sometimes you are forgiven and sometimes not, but the important thing, is that you forgive yourself - be grateful for what you had and if you ever have it again, dare not take a second for granted.......
Beautiful write - Thanks for sharing!
