For the allmighty giant in my life...the ever present aura of love from one no other could compare...My daddy... [bodytext] => Many a sleepness night brought on by dreams of boogymen
Would bring calloused, overworked hands upon my brow
A lullaby of rocking would send me back to slumber
Numerous tears and runny noses
Found relief inside a rumpled up white hankie
Always willing to cram it back inside a worn out blue jean pocket
Through the glasses peer tired eyes
Upon the scalp the grayness proves it's knowledge
A smile still perched upon the crimson lips
Upon your wrist is the power of time
The wrinkles stand proudly against the odds
Your spirit still glowing as though you were nine
Daddy there will never be another man as noble as you
Tied to my heart with the ribbon of fatherhood
Wrapped tightly inside my soul you are a part of me
Years will pass, they'll take their toll
The unconditional love I've found for you is never ending
And Daddy...I will always be your little girl

It's always good to remember those who came before us. I can only hope that those who come after feel the same.

this is so precious... i hope my daughter can look up to her father in this way... often we forget to tell those we love how much we love, settling often for wasting energy on those we don't... this is a beautiful tribute... i'm sure your Daddy feels the same...

I agree with Doug. I wish people wouldn't lose sight of all the good in the people around us. It's so easy to take things for granted. I never had a father figure so this poem is very heartfelt and I am a little envious. Great work!
