In a dark time

In A Dark Time...

In a dark time, in a dark time...
How can you say in a dark time,
When this is a dark time
People lying to you telling you things that aren't
true
Just to get what they want, What they want from you
171 million more dollars to feed a war that makes this
time so dark pouring oozing black liquid all over our
bodies

This is a dark time where 116 more Iraqi's died over
the weekend
The weekend you thought was full of sunshine, sunshine
for everyone
But for them it was and still is a dark time
A dark time when they find out more of their family
and friends died
All for "freedom"
This freedom that is only an excuse so that Bush can
get his hands on more oil that oozes out of his soul
Killing people he doesn't know all for the greed in
his black heart
his black heart that already makes 400 thousand
dollars every year just so he can make more money

This is a dark time
A dark time in Iraqi's lives, as well as mine
Where it is dark and we are wounded
Wounded so badly all we can do is sit and wait
Wait for the voltures to come and pick at our decaying
bodies
While we hope that this dark time comes to an end soon

So we can see the light before the birds finish us off

This is a dark time and all we are doing is sitting
waiting for the light to come back before the birds
finish us off

Dark times indeed. I liked how you have mentioned the loss of life for the Iraqi peoples. So many innocents have died. Peace to you, Laura
