~~~~~
Sometimes I get down on yourself
Close your eyes to the sunlight
Feel caged like an animal
Who’s lost his will to fight
Like Samson with cut hair
My strength has been zapped
My reflexes slowed
My potential capped
Drowning in self-pity
Blurred are my views
Feel like the lead story
On the evening news
Fighting back the tears
When all hope is gone
My so-called friend named doubt
Form a tighter bond
Struggling through the day
At last I rest my head
Wondering to myself
Would I be better off dead?
But morning quickly follows
And the coffee smells so right
In an instant I’m reformed
With a determination to fight
Amen, been there several times, always hanging on though, taking one day at a time, and I have been known to take one second at a time, whatever I have to do, until it passes on. I have learned a lot from my doctor as I am ill, yet I am going to win my battle until I have no breath, and then my breath will be sent up to Him. Many issues can effect our emotions, and depression results from those underlying issues. In order to find out why we are depressed, we need to not just worry about it, the depression iteself, but to check out to see what other problems need to be paid attention too. Grab a good doctor and he will grab a great counselor to help with this mental disorder, more common than one would think. A lot of times wrong thinking, negative thoughts can cause us to feel devastated, we hurt, we feel abandoned and filled with doubt. As I said, I have been there, and one thing for sure, if I don't work on it, I will just get weaker in spirit, so, I changing the agony and pain, with His love, before that deadly depression changes me. Hugs, raquel leah
