It doesn't address my numerous thoughts
To many things a card does not mention
Points that I want to bring to your attention

There is no description of your playful mischievous smile
Or the cute giggle that accompanies, once in awhile
The Valentine cannot express our pet names for each other
Ah, perhaps it's better we only reveal them to one another

The card cannot describe you pretty face
Or know, not with anyone would I change a place
A card cannot elaborate
On your desire for love and affection, to celebrate

Those softly whispered, I love you's
Perhaps a loving glance or spontaneous hug or two
The pert little bottom lip that quivers when you cry
Or pouts a little when we don't see eye to eye

A card can't relate why you don't remain upset
Why you forgive me, even with regrets
How about those times you smile
To cover feeling hurt for awhile

Or the little love notes you leave, to show
How much you love me, you know
Then there are the times when you ask the question
How much I love you today, did I mention

There's our playful competition about who loves the other more
And we go round and round, till we can't anymore
Then there are the loving omissions
Sometimes saying nothing is the most loving condition

So how do you discover a card to say all that, to present
Unless I place this poem in the Valentine card I sent
Yes you are my Valentine
But for a lot more reasons then any card I find [comments] => 7 [counter] => 247 [topic] => 55 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

That's true, a card cannot say all those things.True love is deeper than a once a year token.A lesson for us all, tell the one you love that you do love them............more than once a year !!!

Gosh, Will, this was just beautiful. A perfect Valentine's Day thought
and gift. And you are completely correct. I don't think there is a
woman alive, who wouldn't love a beautiful picece of poetry
like this to mark the day of lovers, in her card. Even in it's stead !!

Sounds like you two are very lucky ! : )
*sigh*

Ok ... well here is a good indication of how far behind I have fallen. March is nearly over and I am reading Valentine poems. I can't help but think Terry ... this would be better than any card you could ever hope to find.
