seems that i've tried to write
alas, no longer take the time,
to say what it is, in my heart
or lives within' my mind,

i know there's some goings on
yet they will not come out,
snow a field enlivens me
yet, words take other routes,

voiceless silent i am amazed
as this, my world slips by,
wings unspread, soul unfurled
it appears i cannot fly,

'tis a recluse that i've become
only family and dogs do i see,
i wish my pen doth not run dry
this is my humble poets plea.

"Emotional poetry" indeed! I, too, would have dropped this in that category... I've had these feelings more often than not lately and know how unsettling they can be. Worst of all, I think, is when there is much... in there... that just won't break the surface.

I've written a few pieces like this myself. Sometimes, doing so pushes open that invisible door and a bit of the "more" tumbles out behind it. I do so hope it is that way for you. This, in and of itself, though is something to be proud of. Well done!

Ahh Nessa my dear friend. It's been too long since we've spoken. I too have practically given up writing. What dribble I put into ink these days I wouldnt post on a bathroom wall.

You, however, even in your writer's agony still have a voice that touches the heart.

Very well done and sadly, very relatable to me.

Sometimes, Nessa, life goes well beyond words. Yours are beautiful, but life has to be truly lived and not just written. I too am not writing like I once did, but then I have a life now to live that is not behind a computer screen. I write when I need to. The rest of the time I live in the real world. Seems we have the ability to have the best of both, when needed.

Smiles,
Rita

Very well penned for someone whose pen is going dry. I don't think our source of material ever dries up... I just think sometimes our inner resources are not in focus and we don't look in the right places.

Poem is well done,

Will

this is my humble poets plea.

This is beautiful.. May you have many days to write from your heart. Yes, poems are wonderful in that they can educate a soul in one way or another.

I do not have a pet any longer, except for a lonely fly or spider, ant that comes to visit me.. my flowers are all made of material, dust is my friend lol.. without poetry, I would be lost.. for it is my baby sitter until Michael gets home to me..

Your poem here expressed a lot.. so I am letting you know.. you have helped me out many times with your writes.. hugs.. raquelLeah..

Aww, mom...

If you'd quit watching so many soap operas then you would probably get your creative juices flowing again :P

Anyway, this was good. :D

My Dearest Lady,

Fore you I have dearly missed, take it from me I've seen the dry side of the pen, it eats at your soul within, the ink may dry, but if you were to no longer write the world of poetry would cry. Much love from your biggest fan, a simple soldier.

It"s the best of times... and it's the worst of times. Yet whatever it may be, there's never enough time to do what I'd like to do for me. Priorities are in place for a reason, so that the little time we have can go to those who need it, but the important thing is never to look away for too long for inspiration will again find you.

A fellow recluse, wishing he could share more...

A beautiful peice of poetry for a dry pen you certainly make even sadness beautiful. worry not it's there and just waiting for that right moment. in any case you paint a most pretty picture.

I think it's safe to say your heartfelt poetry always reaches into some lives here. This presents like writer's block, but is enveloped in so much clarity of thought, that I daresay it is anything but.

My humble plea is that your ink never runs dry either, friend. :)
