In the brightness of the day
I was lost
In the midday sun days were dark
I lost your love
What was the cause

I held you high and never spoke mean
In a crowd I stood alone
What is love if not returned
Beauty is a state of mind
Each girl I saw was you I seen

I walked alone yet held on
Every person every face
You always upon my mind
What is love if not accepted
Yet in hope I clung

You and me
Surely you will return
For better for worse
Alone in the park
Our letters on a tree

The years so long ago
Love's memories hardly fade
Every year and in between
Love is more than butterfly wings
I couldn't bear to let you go

Realization came to be
Life can be hard and hell is warm
You and me a different drum
If I have to I will walk alone
Love isn't love unless set free

Sinned

We cannot make people love us nor hold those who no longer do, this is reflected very touchingly in your poem. Beautiful work!

A lesson learned is that your hearts desire to have someone that you love is not important if that person does not freely give you that love. You have to be able to let go of the one you love in order to have that love returned.....if that is the way it is going to be.

A very sensitive poem, tears fall in places from my eyes. This is a masterpiece poem. Hugs to you.. so much to feel about your chosen words... 5 stars plus....raquelleah
