I've made the mistake of making a woman my friend
just as she started to feel too much
all I wanted was for us to touch

she wanted to call me just to talk
go by the beach just to walk
only one thing was on my mind
that one thing was so hard to find

I'd think of her body and reach for her hand
but she'd want to talk about things I don't understand
I knew I messed up when I said i'd be there
now she believes that I really care

she hates sports and talks too much
I can't listen and never get to touch
I got to find a way for this to end
cause I never meant to make a woman my friend

i really liked this poem its so true members of the opposite sex can rarely be friends guys have done that to me many times and i have done that to guys it just doesnt work thats why you just need to tell people from the begining your intentions are. being honest is key

Yeah, I see where you are coming from. This poem reminds me of the movie "When Harry Met Sally" have you seen it? Anyhoo, good poem, very honest.

This is true most of the time. Members of the opposite sex usually can't be friends with one another because of their differences whether they be that she hates sports or he hates shopping....etc. You can have friends that are women, they just have some more things in common than the usual ones that you have met.
