The pictures forming inside. The ones I've faught so hard to try and hide. All the lies and the decieving. All the abuse, the hate, the beating. The pain I felt so completely once again starts to eat me. The thoughts of you never sober. Oh my God, I thought this was over. The burden from these memories fill my heart they bury me. I wish you knew of my life and could see it through my eyes.
See the love I never had. How I grew up without a mom or dad.
See the care I never recieved. Know the family who never wanted me.
But don't cry yet for this unwanted son. Because my story has only begun.
Time went by without failing. More new reasons to cry kept unveiling. Endured foster care for six years. Brand new homes only braught brand new tears. Always a different bed for me to sleep. Always asking myself how can this be. Lie awake alone at night. Asking God what I didn't do right. I wish I had a new life and could see it through anothers eyes.
See the boy who always grew up sad. How he learned to be his own mom and dad.
See the care that he never expected. Know the families by whom he was rejected.
But don't cry yet for this unwanted son. Because his story is almost done.
As the years went by I become more hopeless. Wondering how much longer I can take this. And just as I was losing faith, I met them at some adoption place. They told me they want me and to call me their own. And I told them all I ever wanted was a home. Now I'm happy with my new life and can see it through my new eyes.
See the boy who is finally glad. How I now have a new mom and dad.
See the care i now recieve. Know the family who finally loves me.
But don't cry yet for this now wanted son. Because my new story has only begun. My heart cries for young people going through rejection! I can't imagine the feelings of not being wanted--only half the feelings--my father was never sober or ever cared about me. BUT my mother did!

I am glad God gave you a new family and this poem is a great tribute to them!

Great write!!!
