Array ( [sid] => 11406 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Lady of Death [time] => 2003-01-27 12:20:00 [hometext] => rode an emotional rollercoaster this past wknd..that fact, and a story told me by my gran years past, had me wondering if indeed I had seen my fetch in my dreams Saturday night... [bodytext] => I tremble
somewhere between wake and sleep and
far within the twilight world
comes a coldness, a stillness, a blackness...
death circles.....
I hear the distant ancient gaelic urgings
ghosts of others that have gone on before me
fearing now they will swoop down into my panicked dreamsleep state
lift me away
carry me off into the omniscient light to
the darkened corridor that awaits...

Dullahan, the headless horseman
rides frantically
searching...... searching
deep into the night
the silver grey long-haired gossomer gowned
Lady of Death beside him
her high pitched exquisitely sweet wails
piercing the nights' silence
setting the dogs a howling
and the other night creatures hiding in their holes.

She, the ban shee, stops and points
"This way"
(where Dullahan stops a mortal dies)

with my gold ankn held out for him to see
I murmur, then I call out
"Please do not take me now,
I am not ready to go"
"Ride on, Ride on," I plead.

my lover beside me answers
Husha now
you're shivering, come closer
tis nothing but a bad dream you're having
Husha now,
you're safe,
now go back to sleep [comments] => 13 [counter] => 353 [topic] => 49 [informant] => roisin [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 47 [ratings] => 11 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => mystical )

A disturbingly beautiful dream, yet it strikes fear into the reader, suspense in the mind, and adrenaline in the dry veins... A gorgeous, creative write, Roisin... I am inspired, and utterly enchanted by your words! Such luminous expressions you create! I've had many dreams like this, and you have described them with such grace and.... utter perfection. I sighed at the end of this masterpiece, for an end to a write such as this, is an end to all things... Thank you so much for sharing this with us, and letting us get a glimpse of your soul... A dark, and trepid ride, Death at your heels, you're on your last breath, pleading helplessly, "Be gone! Be gone, horrid Death!" Alas, it was only a dream, but a dream that shall be remembered for all eternity. Pen on, dear poet... All my love.
