dropping to earth as an eagle plumeting from high skies
ever knowing your wings are clipped, you try upon
currents throwing you spiraling into sad breezes,
now and again my friend..
take your deepest bravest breaths, yes,
close your eyes, breathe, and your wings will spread
the gifts of this life cannot be taken from you dear, your
mind, heart an' soul's passion, will always have the freedom to roam,
your restless self, sometimes stern, worn and wearisome,
yet can fly amongst the air currents by stars circling home.

Strapped like a wildborn eagle, with those tired bound wings
yet, listen, in her heart the eagle's song still sings,
whilst fighting within' her beak and breast travels
over deserts, forests, cliffs, caverns and sea's foam,
nothing and no human can take that away..
this precious eagle has seen the sun above the highest cloud,
heard the music upon the waters of summer's oceans,
now lulled by the winds she's seen as dreaming,
brightly gleaming,
beautiful although she cannot fly,
she has never lost the gift of flight,
for it is instinctivly inside, she will not hide,
only at her wingtips is ever the air,
so as she looks upon those skies,
she need only but close her eyes,
to have the gift of flight again,
gliding happily above the earth anytime night or day,
no human, bird or beast could ever hold her beauty at bay.

much much love dear chrissie
