~~~~~
Like a chilly winter’s breeze
You came waltzing in
A sight for sore eyes
How long has it been?
From the time we were small
What fast friends we became
One would often think of “Pals”
With the mentioning of our names
But time separated us
Shortly after graduation day
We both moved on to college
And you moved away
Its funny how this world
Never stops spinning around
After twenty some odd years
You come waltzing into town
And you look up your old friend
For the sake of old times
What a sight for sore eyes
The pleasure was all mine
For a moment time stood still
And we were swinging from a tree
Back when we were kids
And hearts were still free
right where you left off. I have often wanted to see some of my friends I grew up with, have even tried to look them up in the phone book, of course my female freinds are married and so their last names would be married names. right out of highschool I moved off to another state, 10 yrs later came back, perhaps we all just switched sides, thank you for sharing, this is a lovely poem. raquelLeah
