Before her he kneels the question he did pop
He went far away to find a better life
Now he was here asking her to be his wife

He found a job but missed her so
She was his life he wanted her to know
She was his hopes and his dreams
He was not happy without her it seems

She completed the picture so sweet
He came back to sweep her off her feet
Now all she could do is weep
For months she hardly got any sleep

Her tears then were of the sadness kind
Now tears of joy flowed she did not mind
She answered him with a resounding yes
Her patience had passed the time test

The wedding was on the 5th of May
The loveliest of brides all did say
One year exactly to this date
She gave a son to her beloved mate

As he held the baby close to his side
His wife again a river cried
Now happy tears as the day he proposed
A lifetime of joyful tears now hers I suppose
