the open kitchen
drawer.
My eyes glazed
with tears.
My heart broken on
the floor.
My shaking hand
reaches in to grab
the weapon of hope
and healing.

The blade glimmers
in the lgiht.
A reflection shown in it
of a girl with
her tears, with running
make-up and empty eyes.
The hurt playing back
to me as I remembered
how I got there.

How I became such
a broken girl.
I'll start slicing lines
as the memories play
back, watching my reflection
in the blade.
Blood starts to appear,
the pain fades away.

But more memories come
and more pain becomes
unbearable, so the knife
continues its carving work.
I make my way to my
room, so no one can
see what's happening.

I'll hide in a corner,
stare down at my arms
and begin the memories
again.
I'll rock to and fro.
I'll hum a comforting tune
as blood falls to the floor
and covers me.

The knife releases pain
with each line it cuts
into pure white skin
by releasing the thing that
keeps me living:
blood.
I'll feel safe for a while,
until meomries and
their pain come back.
Then I'll head back to the
kitchen and choose my weapon. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 13 [informant] => MysticFireFairy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 7 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
