Array ( [sid] => 113356 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Dying World [time] => 2006-01-17 21:24:03 [hometext] => This is one of my first poems, I think I was fourteen when I wrote it. I found it again among my papers, so I thought I'd submit it. Another darkish short poem. [bodytext] => ~~~~~~~~~~

The log fire crackles,
Rub your hands, keep them warm.
A hyena cackles,
And a child is born.
The fire dies down.
The hyena's hush.
Another child is born.
The world is in a rush.
We don't slow down.
We just speed up.
The world goes round.
Another throat is cut.
People live, people die.
No one stops to wonder.
No one stops to ask why,
This world is going under.

Good write. Too many folks here on this earth. Not enough room for anyone else. Won't be long they'll find another planet and destroy the hell out of it too. Humans are a beastly bunch. Enjoy your writes, Peace to you, Laura

I think this is what a lot of people feel. I liked it. You're very talented, if this was when you were seven. Kep writing!
