Array ( [sid] => 113300 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Waiting [time] => 2006-01-16 21:59:18 [hometext] => Well, it's been a year today that I've been here, thought I'd post something for the occasion. This song was cathartic, and I think this to be one of the saddest things I've had to write. I'm finding I have to move on from relationships far too often. [bodytext] => You’re leaving me here out in the dark
And I know you’re feeling things that you can’t start
To begin to understand,
But I can lend that helping hand.
If you just let me in,
Then we have somewhere to go.

Wish upon a star,
Wishing in this way:
For all the effort that I show,
Please, let me be repaid.

The longer I stay out here the longer I
Will know the way you’re feeling has slowly died,
And I’ve no more cause to stay,
And I’ll begin to curse the day.
…But then you smile at me,
And I’ve no reason to go.

Deep inside you are,
Deep inside you’ll stay,
As long as you and I both know
We’ll find our love one day.
One sweet day.

I’m standing in the dark as I wait for you
And you’ll know all the things that I’m going through,
I’d gladly go through again,
As the thought of you remains
Deep inside my heart,
But it has nowhere to go.
Nowhere to go…

Boy! What a way to celebrate a year! (Congrats BTW!)

I loved this poem....I have read so many great pieces today. I must say I have been quite satified with these wonderful works of art.

One of my favorite lines in this one is:
If you just let me in,
Then we have somewhere to go.

So glad you're at YPDC....

Cheers on the year, Marc.

This is a heartfelt piece, full of the right stuff. Many people these days just don't understand their own humanity, and they do foolish things. But it sounds like you know something about being a person. Hang in there. Time'll come.

Andrew

Happy anniversary, Marc! I'm delighted that the turning of the calendar prompted a post from you (and I do so hope there are more to follow!).

This piece tugs at me in any number of ways. I could write a novel here... but will stop of short of doing so (phew!, huh??? *giggles*). Many will recognize themselves in this, I think --- the lucky ones... the very, very lucky ones... will, in a past tense sort of way. Andrew's right, i think --- time'll come, surely... it will indeed.

Wishing you a safe, fulfilling and... reasonably short journey to the inside (while being so bold as to assure you, adamently even, that there is much to be garnered, learned and enjoyed even in the interim),
~Snem
