I'm tired of feeling the tears roll down my cheeks
But I can't help it because in my mind all I see are the poverties that harm even the babies of this society that tries to reach me or my mind

See I cry
‘Cause beneath my eyes I see even the youngest ones cry cause of hunger
Cause of a birth pain that is un-deserved

I cry when I see strong women working the curb cause they’re trying to get a little money to buy that herb, or that rock, or that piece for their man at the dock
Watching the clock waiting for the time that their pain will end, but it's nonstop cause I can feel it within
So I cry

I cry when I see a boy die on the streets
Trying to live the type of life that will provide for his family
Who is only striving to stay alive and survive behind the walls that seem to lead to the sky
And you wonder why I cry

I cry when I hear the story of a child and a father who died but not physically, no his body is still alive, and that’s when the little boy or little girl says he left me, so he's dead to me
But it hurts even worst when the little girl looks you in the eyes and says if that is the case my mama died, and I cannot deny this little girl is me and that's another reason why my tears aren't free

Every drop comes with feeling and every step comes with healing of the heart
That is sick and tired of living in the dark Where if a match is lit the wind of sorrow and the hurricanes of tomorrow turn it into bits
So I cry

I cry and this is hard to admit
Going throughout my life being tough, and being rough so that I can be taken seriously
But the threat of life is about to kill me and diminish me mentally
But don't get me wrong it can never take the wisdom that is spiritually given

I cry yet I continue on living throughout the trials and tribulations thanking God that he gave me the strength to face them
‘Cause I would rather not erase them, because no lesson would be learned
And from some lessons life’s scars are earned
And those scars really burn and hurt my skin So I cry

If you still wonder why I cry look in my eyes
And see the pain that is disguised in this body of mine
And then you’ll see why
I cry
