A hearse outside the church today
Sat parked like omens that stop the heart
Heavy footsteps of the mourners could be heard
Step by step their hearts broke more

With misty pools of shadowed blue eyes
She tried to keep her agony inside
Her eyes were blank and empty as she hid
The soul that shattered and broke within

A china face with no expression
Held stiff and eyes stared forward
Hands lifted pages of his life
Fingers touched his words of a life full of sorrow

Keeping eyes and soul on the ground
She feared what lifted heads would see
An empty room with empty pews
Sat in despair with organs keeping on the grave beat

As words came from the pulpit at last
Trying to make this all see unreal
Trying to make it sound like a mistake
When it had been planned in his troubled mind

The air filled with constant sobs
Of souls that called back his name
She tried to fight back the tears
She tried to fight back the pain

They came and slowly moved the casket down the aisle
Blue with flowers so white
Someone so young should not be placed
In a crib of desperate loneliness.

He brought upon himself his direful closure
For desolation filled his spirit as it cried out
Now they laid him in the dark abyss
When nightmares are locked in to lay beside you

Row by row they left the room
Left the atmosphere of misunderstanding and desperation
Slowly standing she closed off her emotions and stared ahead
When straight ahead the coffin lay, with its front gravely opened.
She had tried so determinedly to keep it inside

But the horror caused her emotions to dissolve into a screaming tear
Her insides twisted with the knowledge of things not yet experienced
That the worst was still to come.

Emotionless eyes slowly revealed
Her soul inside the screamed and cried
Silently it wept
As she turned her head and mind away

But love and depression turned it back
And her shadowed eyes fell upon his shadowed face
The absence of breath was clear and death
Never again would seem the same

A burial of a different kind
Burying one who was so young and lost
Leaving behind the smile his shadowed face once held
Leaving behind his lifeless body to be judged at the cross.

Passing by he left her sight
And tears could no longer be kept within
She did her best to hold in he screams
That begged for mercy from above

Her face distorted and dismayed
Her tears still silently hit the ground
Her breath was gone and sobs could not
Let in the air full of death and despair.

Walking into the hurting light, Of the church she passed the hearse
From inside the church came the screams of a mother
O God, O God, O God, O God
Reflected what her spirit silently screamed but could not say.
