[bodytext] => I carried this hurt to long to know it's real. I endured through a lot of pain, that I can't express, but is too easy to feel.

Being rejected by my family, mainly because I came from the streets. Unwanted was heartbreaking; "too many tears," but how could I win until I suffered my first defeat?

I made my mom cry when I was nine. It was the first that she saw me cuffed, but it wouldn't be the last time.... since I had no sense of direction in my mind.

Collecting money on the blocks, I had my 45 just in case someone had to go. Some people saw me as a disciple, since I had this ability to touch souls.

I don't care about the cops, they think that everyone that comes from poverty is a killer. I can only play the hand I was dealt, it's not like I was born to be a dealer.

Late at night I have these dreams of me being dead. I see the bullet flying, but I wake up before it hits my head....... Now I've done a lot in my life that others may dread.... But thats just how it goes, on my block. Thank you so much sharing this write with us all..........You are brave and courage to reveal these most of initimate feelings and past practices.........Give me a look into the mind of the younger set. I too have experienced heartwrenching things in my life, and I'm so glad you are able to vent through your pen.......you teach others and even help us heal........
Keep your integrity always, for whatever that may be, be true to you, yourself........for in the end, that's who you will face forever.
Very intelligent write!
Warm love

Too often we see what we want to see and hear. This write puts into retrospect of the fact our young people are seeing it for real. A write that took some guts to put into thought to others and understand it. A fear of living the way you do, each day is YOUR DAILY life. perhaps a life you are dealt with, but with your pen you chose to get thru it. With this talent you can take that part of the deck that hasn't all been dealt out yet, my dear.... you can change it. tough though, being in your block thru your write, is fear...... its reality for you. Its everyday a person is shot in my neighborhood and other surrouding areas. Most due to drugs, others for other reasons. But all young people. I can only imagine your life, as I just can see a bit thru your write. Remember the cards are not all bad, as you have a talent, use it wisely, use all you have wisely and in time when you graduate or have already, step up to the plate and step out of your block with your talent, move on to use what you have. It takes alot to do this, hard, tough and easy to say...... very difficult to do, but so far you are stepping into this writing site to put your innermost thoughts in writing......so now learn to use all the schools assets to help you use your talent, and instead of holding a 45, maybe you can hold a college diploma..... think about it.... hard work, can you do this.....even in your block....
Good write.....lots of guts to make it thru your thoughts. I am glad you shared this...... puts many of those who live in a bubble into the real world thru your writes. thanks.

It is the challenges and struggles in life that make and break us! But the true test is not falling, but getting back up again! This write is sad, and paints a picture of a life with fear, loneliness, and defeat. But in the end, you ultimately realize that life delt you these challenges , and you are a survivor, living in a tough world. If these events you write about really happend, and you are alive to write about it, and spending your time doing something good, than I am happy for you! I read that you are a student- even better! Good luck, and keep up the writing!!!

To poems I enjoy reading I usually would type something along the lines of 'good write' or 'great poem' but I feel as though nowadays people constantly consider poetry as form of literary art and not an example, explanation, or expression of what we really go through, so for me to comment and state 'good write' would be equivalent to me sayiing 'good life'. Personally I believe it goes deeper than that and I appreciate the fact that you use poetry as an outlet for the world to see the occurences in your life so for that and that only am I thankful.
