I dreamt of something neat, but chaos was all that shown

I saw a rigid figure of a tall man, he sat crossed legged and seemed serene
It was not until I was closer, the man was dead, his face writhed in a scream

His suit had looked much brighter, as with the hairs on his head
The man seemed older than the Earth this night, his face was all but dead

Stretch reached out to consume me, but before I had to go
I asked him of his values, a rotten grin, so he had to know

Old man soon then showed me, what it was to feel great pain
Twisting my head from my shoulders, with blood spewing over and over again

Stretch told me to sing for him, a story of all I had to behold
I told the old man I lied to him, for my story had just been told

Confused and unrelenting, my arms cracking behind my head
Old man grew so angry, so that he threw his fit and left me dead

So now I was not walking, and the surgeons had all gone home
I lay there near the cobblestone, blowing at the hair in my face that I could not comb

Old man returned this time, but different with a smile upon his face
Stretch helped me out of the shoulder, took off like a rocket and into space

The sight of stars is pretty, and Stretch glanced for my approving nod
But Old Man forgot the oxygen, and he certainly was not God

We drifted through there weightless, I grabbed a ride of Comet Birm
I named it Birm for a reason, but of that reason I am not quite sure

Old Man left me a present, I was awake and confused in my own bed
Stretch promised me we were not in space, and that I was only dead [comments] => 2 [counter] => 169 [topic] => 74 [informant] => exodus [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => surreal )

Stretch... that's interesting...
That and Birm... what is Birm?

Truth be told... I read the last line first... Anything having to do with Old man Stretch, space, and death has to be interesting... and it was. I wanted to read it, and I did. Thanks for sharing.

Aq.
