Array ( [sid] => 112982 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => How COULD You? [time] => 2006-01-11 13:44:18 [hometext] => I just can't imagine doing this... [bodytext] => How could You have done all that for me?
Who am I that You'd die on that tree?

First of all You came down from Heaven above
As a baby in a stable out of love
Why would You give those Heavenly surroundings up?
Knowing well that we'd all continue to foul up
Yet You grew up among people just like me
All the while knowing You came to set us free
You saw people sick and starving, in pain and dying
Others You saw cheated, murdered, abused and lying
YET You came to teach us all a better way
How to love and care and from You not to stray
Do I listen and obey and trust in what You've taught--
Or am I trapped in this world with feelings of distraught?

Just HOW could You have done ALL that for me?
Who am I that You'd die upon that tree?

Then You spent a lot of time teaching those twelve men
Showing them a loving life style for them to live in
You also befriended and taught those that gathered near
Healed the sick, blind and deaf, and love little children dear
Those caught in sin, You forgave and told "Sin no more"
What more can anyone with such guilt even hope for?
Yet I know Your same teaching still applies to me today
How to care and love others, even if sins are their way.
I'm to forgive and forget and show them the love of You
So they can know what You have done and believe in you, too!

BUT HOW could You have done all that for me
Who am I that You'd die upon that tree?

You even took the hatred, mocking and whipping beyond reason
Yet we just casually think about that during Easter season
How can we be sooo flippant about the pure life, harsh suffering and death You gave
The blood You shed, the sin You took away, then defeated the grave for us to save
You even went further on and promised us much, much more than all that
You went back to Heaven to prepare a place for us and that's a fact
But You never left us alone to struggle and stumble on our way
You sent Your Spirit to be our Comforter and Guide for ev'ry day!
What is sooo much more amazing to me in all that You have done
Is --if I were the only one here, You'd still done all this for one.

WOW, HOW could YOU have done ALL this for me?
