Vacillate between comfort and pain
Exquisite the colors
Yet dangerous and deadly the flame

An undulating pattern from a roaring flame to an ember glow

Very unpredictable, as is life
Our moods rising and falling, to peak and subside
Sometimes controlled, others with strife

Our Creator provided fire so we might exist

Such an essential element for survival
From the creation of man to the civilized
The flames have an existence with their own rivival

Such a multitude of diversity, too numerous to mention

Eventually my return to consciousness aspires
Having traversed the universe to return

I've just read this after 4 cans of full strengh lager, my eyes are squinting up to the screen like a waste of space who doesn't realise the christmas festivites are over and I've come to the conclusion (drunk or sober) this is a jolly fine piece of work! very well written indeed.

I can stare at a fire for such a long time. I get lost within the dance ... the flicker ... the color ... and I love the heat. Oh and don't even get me goin on where my mind wanders off to ... I can relate well to what you have here Terry, and enjoyed the read very muchly ( LOL )
