In rhetorical form
Rhetoric translated
Into a language decodable
To segments of imagination

To foster growth
Developmental milestones
Gently groped
Tightly roped
High –wire- walker walks
Above heads heavenward
Where simple men sit and talk

Stories tell
Left to sort out details
Minor points
And essential entrails
Convoluted plans
Help, drawn clearly in the sand

Smoker’s smoke
Last call on lungs
First time virgin
Second time
A beast emerges
Lasts longer
Tastes better
Elevated erotic
Amplified psychotic
Ear-drum burst
Tag- team hurt
Stun-gun burst
One-ton weight
Young blossom wait
Rain will come another day
For now the sun spoils
Backbeat boils
Cherry-seed icicles
Strawberry miracle
Fruits of the labor
Slave of the owner
Save the self

Stunted, the growth is repelled
Attracted to similar smells
Repeatable responses
To assumptions of hell
Expectant of reasonable reaction
Feasible satisfaction
Achievable goals
Mindset approximated
The hole in the sky folds
The rain never made it

And we are left dry
Standing in the searing sun naked

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
