Just thinking of hm
With his piercing blue eyes
That never went dim

Said he had to go
And search past the night
Perhaps for himself
And go find his life

Going to Paris
To be in a new place
And discover the world
In its rude true face

I bid farewell
With five simple words
I love you so much
But he never heard

I spent more of my days
Just thinking of him
Never off of my mind
Thought it was sin

I can remember
Standing up for today
Amongst all those hills
That got in the way

So I packed up my bags
And I took a chance
Headed off to the airport
Bought a ticket to France

So long of a ride
My heart started to ache
I'd go search for him
My love was at stake

Made the long trip
Went to the outskirts of town
Came in a taxi
The city no sound

Searched for my love
In days of pure skies
With so many people
Who can't hear your cries

And then I saw him
Just sitting right there
Eating at a cafe
With a few simple tears

I began to reach out
But came too far afraid
Cause the first time I saw him
I was never the same

So I ran away
As fast as I could
To leave him behind
And I knew that I would

I heard him call out
But I just couldn't bear
To go turn around
And say I was there

I closed my eyes
And I held them tight
Thoughts through my head
Wondering if I was right

As I looked out my window
And felt the small wind
I felt my love gaze
Amongst the pink horizon

Fantasies of him
Holding so close to me
Never fulfilled
For what I am to be

Memories of Paris
That seem never too far
Where I last saw my love

Love this poem - I sort of expected you'd get together in the end :(((( but I really like the way you ended it with fantasies and memories. Very nice write.

Good poem but sad. Did you see him again?
