&
today

i’m just a mermaid who’s

resting safe and sound in
your jeans -
her name still on the inner
left leg.

i’m just a
fishgirl watching a
man (far off) in his

finest

business

clothes

trying to salvage his sandcastle from
the oncoming tide.

&with
this man, my thoughts
race to Neptune &
back again.

all the while
your eyes prying into my
bare back, extracting my

whimsical lust

with
your eyes. i smile without
any sound

for i see you (far off),
balding and frantic, in your

finest

business

clothes

trying to salvage your sandcastle from
the oncoming tide. you
notice my

smile,
the guilt falling on me

in this
tainted sunshine. your thoughts
break my silence(d mourning)

&

with a whispered

"how nice"

I forget how crushingly
deep we are

in this sea.
waking my from my

fish worries with
a caprice &
we make

love

in these
darkening waters
her name still

engraved on your jeans
& her eyes watching
as the tide
swallows her

island

paradise

on this day.

Really loved the use of words

Its kind of sensual , sexual but not in a cold crude sense

Thought it was from the point of view of a tatooo

Its an impreessive piece of work
