Thinking on things that have no immediate meaning
Am I wasting my time as I write this down
Or is there someone who will find interest in my poem without rhyme
Lost in translation some would stray
From the premise behind what I want to say

Basically sick and tired of watching us all fading to the night
Unbearable are the scenes of our people as they fight
For the power of one, promoting their might

To what end, what is the purpose
As we will all come to an end
Will you be treated different because of your wealth
Realize you must, the sustainment of health

To help another with the knowledge you have
Assisting all others with the tools which you’ve been given
To give without scores, to heal without pause
Why do you not think like this
Is there a reason why you ignore and dismiss

As hard as I try I cannot understand how
Knowing full well, families united in their dwellings
Will be massacred at will and you’re there not caring

Only when seen will the message be clear
Like the Viet scenes beamed across the skies
Before we saw, our minds ignored
We’d go to fight for what we believed was right

Dying an honourable death, fighting for freedom?
Stop it we did only when seen the unmerciful killing
The unnecessary bloodshed, all those unneeded dead

It seems that we are forever cursed with the disease of birth
Exhaling only when we no longer hurt
My heart goes out to all those people geographically misplaced
My middle finger stands tall to all those disgraced.

Very powerful and mature piece of writing certainly aimed at quite a mature demographic. Nice work.

Please check out some of my poetry if you have time, 'Don't Worry' and 'So why...?'

WoW Tom this is awesome. A brilliantly penned and conveyed piece of poetry that tells of the truths of this world.

My heart goes out to all those people geographically misplaced
My middle finger stands tall to all those disgraced

Your work is always interesting and well worth the read. Thanks for sharing ur great work with us Tom.
*hugs*
