Do you smell it
The stench of a lie
Foul reckless odor
Lingers in time

Tell me …
Do you taste it
The bittersweet truth
Love is undying
Stealing our youth

Tell me …
Do you hear me
When I call your name
When my heart cries out
Is it in vain

Tell me …
Do you see it
The love that is there
Unbridled passion
Life isn’t fair

Tell me …
Do you feel it
My soul reaches in
Do you feel its pull
Listen within

Tell me …
Do you love me
With all that you are
Five senses screaming
Please heal these scars

~Shannon~

Having been privy to much of what you've written ... this then would probably be the finest I've yet seen.

I loved this the first time you shared it with me, sweetie. I ADORE this piece.
Deep, emotive and wonderfully thought-provoking. I agree with Philly,
you have grown as a poetess and in this write it is ever obvious!

And your love, friendship and support mean just as much, dear girl!!!

*squeezies and all that jazz*

i like the construction and how you didn't plunge on after the sense description like i would have been tempted to do. brief, but an endless story unfolds inside.
