To examine our tribulations and search for a solution
We have attempted transformation many times before
With limited success we struggle behind closed doors

With our complete being we would resonate
Hoping to formulate some changes if it wasn't too late
Emotions begin to spring forth more often it seems
Mourning with regret, malfunction foreseen

The holiday focus is often hectic and stressful
Not necessarily resounding with cheer, and restful
Lets eliminate some negative habits today
The question remains how serious are they

Just a wish or aspiration will not reach the goal
It will necessitate a concentrated effort to show
Change for the sake of change will not fly
Rather it's authenticity that we need to apply

Maybe our spotlight for change today
Needs to encompass a humanitarian crusade
For focusing on helping others
Is a way of not feeling so personally smothered

What ever our contemplated change may be
It is important to center our vision to also see
That irregardless of whether we change or not
We are already a part of a worthwhile lot [comments] => 4 [counter] => 221 [topic] => 18 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 14 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Holiday Poetry )

Kudos! What a terrific piece! I can't exactly decide which one of several possibilities (strength of voice, poetic talent or uplifting message) makes me say this -- but this may well be my favorite of yours. I very much enjoyed this!

Feeling quite fine for having perused this piece,
~Snemmy

I echo your sentiments here of focusing on others. If you just look outside yourself you will find so many others that are far worse off in this world. Extending a hand of help and friendship can certainly fill your time and heart and still the self pity we all feel at times. Brilliant feelings in this write..

Terry ... you are branching out again, this time into near rhyme ... it works and works well ... there is a great theme here ...

"That irregardless of whether we change or not
We are already a part of a worthwhile lot"

We are all special in our own way and that is something to be proud of. Well done sir ... well done indeed.

Nazzy ~
