Starve the children across our freedom shores
Sit without any company
Make rich all the fools who sip wine with their whores

You defend yourself with twisters
Swear that you embrace the finer things in life
But what you are really thinking of
Is how tragic you are submersed in all your strife

Drive your fancy new ride
Grow warm as it glistens in the sun
Maybe your money can buy you a little happiness
Maybe all your gadgets will make your slow decay fun

Let your mind float through emptiness
Mock all the people with simple tastes
Point at the bud-less tongues of mediocrity
May your maker put you in a proper place

Cry for your broken sunglasses
Your new leather Versace bag
Sit alone and gloat over emptiness
Watch as your drive moves from happy to sad

Make yourself late depending on gadgets
Curse your watch when its numbers abandon you
You buried yourself under a digital denial
I know that makes you mad but thats the ******* truth

Realize your decay is approaching
And alone with your gadgets, you can only please yourself
Mock all the simple tastes around you
And the blame belongs to simply no one else

Excellent critique on the facets of money and it's people. Such a powerful attack.

Please consider my poems too, if you have time. =]

A very interesting concept. It is true that we have become dependent upon materialistic gadgets.Too bad humanity is slowly dooming itself. The poem is very well written.
The flow is good and the emotions are nicely portrayed. Great Write.
