~~~~~
What a crippling disaster to be trapped under ground
Clinging to life with toxic gases all around
Struggling to survive from a deadly explosion
Fates deciding which ones are chosen
Desperate families awaiting word
Holes have been drilled, but nothing heard
Time ticks away as prayers increase
Rescuers franticly work without cease
Gathered at a church in this local town
Families wait with the media round
Broadcasting to the world this sad event
Waiting for news to be sent
And Around 3am it finally came
Terrible news just the same
Only one of thirteen survived
Collectively the whole world cried
God bless the souls of the fallen ones
The Husbands, the Fathers, the Sons
Strengthen the families of the terrible mess
Grant these Miners peace and eternal rest
* This accident happen in a small town about two hours from where i live.
The surviving Miner is a brother of a friend of mine.
God bless their souls! [comments] => 7 [counter] => 154 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Jeff_Scott_Morehead [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
