collapsing under reality's shove

how long can i be optimistic?

how long can i keep this fake smile

how long does it take

before i drown in my own denial

i can only laugh it off so long

and only so many tears can be withheld

only for awhile can you forgive

especially with all innocence expelled

i wont fall for it anymore

the damage has been done

my open door is closing

no longer will i be blinded by the sun

yea today im giving up on it all

that's right, you hear it true

im done being naive

its time to grow up...

time i got a clue

time to give up on love

we all know its not sincere

its made in a hollywood basement

its patented and bought with the dollar bill

believed by teenage girls

used by guys to get backseat thrills

i mean how dumb do i have to be

to say i love you, and believe it too?

I am sorry to hear you're giving up on writing SM...Why? I'm hoping it's just for a little while. I've always enjoyed your writes, they are always so heartfelt, no matter the subject. You have a way with words that many readers can relate to, and that's good. Wow. Those last two lines...geesh. I could go on a tangent here, but I'll save myself the embarrassment : )
You did well expressing your emotions here. I sure hope to see a new post from you in the not-so-distant future!

This was a really good poem and I can relate the first half... I hope that you have changed your mind about love at least alittle not all love is like that...
